Engagement Opportunities

Stakeholder engagement is a fundamental principle of the Northern Water project

Northern Water conducted extensive stakeholder engagement during the business case phase. The team continues to engage with stakeholders and the wider community as part of the planning and assessment phase to help identify potential issues, concerns, impacts, opportunities, and management measures to reduce risk and enhance local community benefits.

We are committed to:

  • delivering early and ongoing engagement that is open and transparent
  • providing opportunities for stakeholder influence throughout all stages of the project
  • working with stakeholders and community representatives to ensure that concerns and aspirations are understood and addressed
  • identifying and understanding relevant knowledge gaps and solutions
  • making reports and studies available for public review in a timely manner
  • communicating how stakeholders and community input influenced the outcome
  • providing engagement opportunities both face to face and online.

Northern Water is committed to effectively engaging with community and stakeholders to provide a variety of opportunities to influence outcomes during each stage of the project. Our diagram outlines the engagement stages and highlights our current environmental and social assessment, and planning and procurement status.
